How to Take Your Measurements

Chest / Bust

Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape horizontal and snug but not tight.

Waist

Measure around the natural waistline (the narrowest part of the torso, usually just above the navel).

Hip

Measure around the fullest part of the hip, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Shoulder width

Measure from the edge of one shoulder to the edge of the other, across the back.

Sleeve length

From the centre back of the neck, over the shoulder and down the arm to the wrist bone.

Inseam

From the crotch seam down the inside of the leg to the desired length (e.g. top of shoe or ankle).

Tips for accurate measurements

  • Use a soft, flexible measuring tape.
  • Stand naturally; donโ€™t suck in or puff out.
  • Keep the tape snug but not tight.
  • Measure over thin clothing or underwear for consistency.
  • If possible, have someone else take the measurements.
